The Grampians mountain range was formed by one tectonic plate sliding under another, forcing the other up into these jagged mountains, in a process called ‘convergence’. It’s like a geological wisdom teeth situation, only instead of getting braces or surgery to straighten it all out, the whole thing gets frozen in time as a national park, and told to erode itself into a more comfortable arrangement. Yikes.
